Thank You

Donna Utterback

A big hurrah for Donna Utterback and the job she did with the Light Parade.  The Chamber is proud to salute her.

January Meeting Guest Speakers

At our next Chamber meeting, Tuesday, January 17, we will have two guest speakers.

The first will be James E. Reed, Attorney, who is running for the non-partisan office of Superior Court judge.  The second is Phyllis Funk, President, Fall River Valley Library Corporation.  Our new library is opening next month.

FR Valley Welcome Sign Progress

We will hear about our progress on our “Welcome to the Fall River Valley” sign.  It is planned to locate the new sign along the western entrance to our valley on Hwy. 299E.

Future Mixer Plans

If you have attended our past meetings you already know that some members object to our lunchtime meetings since they must be at work at that time.  The reality is that there is no time where every Chamber can agree to attend.  We can help somewhat by providing an evening mixer with guest speakers this Spring.  It is now in the planning stage.

About the Newsletter

We hoped to communicate with our members exclusively with this Newsletter.  So while we will continue to urge Chamber members to buy a computer and get online we will also begin using the U.S. Postal Service to reach the recalcitrant members.

Bring your suggestions to the meeting!

In the spirit of a new year we will solicit suggestions as to the direction the Chamber should take in the coming years.  Come prepared to offer your ideas.  Please remember that our Chamber meeting time is limited so keep your comments short.  Thank you.

Benefit Banquet and Silent Auction

There is a benefit banquet and silent auction-featuring local singing artist Jamie Pineda-Westlund on January 21 at the McArthur Fairgrounds.  The doors open at 5:30 for the silent auction with dinner scheduled for 6:30.  If you have heard Jamie sing then you are in for a special treat after the auction.  The tri-tip dinner is $20 per adult and $15 per child (12 and under).  Group tables are available.  There will be a door prize, raffle prizes and gift certificates.

Jamie is in the process of negotiating contracts in Los Angeles with a recording studio.  There are those of us in the community that would love to help her reach her goals and dreams.  There are so many expenses involved with lawyer’s fees, contract fees, travel expenses, etc.    We would like to help raise funds to help her achieve her dreams.  Come to Chatty Kathy’s on January 17 for our regular Chamber meeting and contact Debbie Noel at Tri Counties Bank  336-6291, if you would like to participate.
