CHAMBER MIXER
SET
The
Chamber of Commerce Mixer is set for Friday, March 2, 2007 at
the Lions Hall in McArthur. The hours are 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
There will be appetizers and a no host bar. The last mixer
was in October 2006. We are looking for a better turnout so
please invite everyone you know in the community to attend. It
is an informal opportunity for residents to express their
opinion as to the direction in which the Chamber is moving.
RESOLUTION
PASSED BY THE SHASTA COUNTY
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
Glen
Hawes, our Board of
Supervisors member, has assured your Chamber President that the
full Shasta County Board of Supervisors will approve a
resolution endorsing our Gateway Sign to be placed along Hwy
200E at the western entrance to the Fall River Valley. A county
resolution is required by CalTrans
to erect a sign in their right of way.
The
sign will say only “Welcome to the Fall River Valley”.
PARTY OF THE
CENTURY MOVED FROM FRIDAY TO SATURDAY
The
Party of the Century/Street Fair/Festival committee has voted to
move this event
from
Friday, where it has been for the past two years, to Saturday.
The hours have also been extended from a starting time of 5:00pm
to 3:00pm. The actual date is set for July 21, 2007 so mark
your calendars. It is hoped that the new day and extended hours
will expand an already successful event. Serious discussion is
taking place of extending this
event
to two days next year. Your active support is requested.
SUE EDMONDSON TO
ADDRESS THE CHAMBER MEETING
Sue
Edmondson, reporter for the Mountain Echo, has asked to address
the Chamber at our regular meeting Tuesday, noon, February 20,
2007 at Chatty Kathy’s Restaurant in McArthur. We all enjoy her
regular column “The Scoop”. Please attend if you can.
